THE BRIDGER PEAKS COUNSELING APPROACH TO INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

At Bridger Peaks Counseling, We Will Help You Through This Time

Our approach to therapy is different. We know you could spend time with a number of other therapists in Bozeman. But, you want to give us a chance to help you first. The caring, professional team here at Bridger Peaks uses talk-therapy, coupled with interactive feedback and/or supportive reflection. Our person-centered approach centers you in the therapeutic process, putting you in the driver’s seat. When deeply buried feelings and thoughts are found and brought to the surface, our experiences and emotions can finally be understood.

In order to work with these emotions, we also use techniques like:

Narrative therapy: giving one's life story meaning by better understanding their personal abilities

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): helps lessen emotions connected to traumatic events and allow the individual to better cope with them

Somatic Experiencing: better understanding the physical to aid in the healing of stressors and/or trauma

Frequently Asked Questions About INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

  • The vision you had for your life doesn't match the current reality. Perhaps, you are having a tough time adjusting to a new stage of life. You might have recently experienced a move, loss of a loved one or are or dissatisfied with you job or a career. Perhaps that “tough time” has even created panic attacks and anxiety.

Maybe, it’s nothing “too big” but you just don't feel like your normal self. You just want to fine tune a few things. Some people in individual therapy want to be proactive in life, taking charge of needing a change. Making things better before they get worse. Does that sound familiar?

Often, people will come to counseling thinking that they need one type of treatment for their concerns, but end up discovering more to process than they thought was “up there”.

We know it can feel like there’s absolutely no one to talk to. Like no one understands, or everyone is against you! Maybe you feel like you are faking life, just going through the motions and feel wearing a mask. Talking to other people is too much effort, especially when it seems like they are going to be judging everything you say. If anyone knew what you were really thinking about or feeling, they would certainly think you were “crazy”, right? We get it.

  • Our clients feel comfortable with and have a good relationship with their therapist or counselor. After working with our caring team, you will feel better and cry less. We want you to feel helped and cared for. Therapy can be a great form of self-care which you need and deserve. Through individual counseling in Bozeman, Missoula, or online anywhere in Montana we will get you to a place of more connection, improving relationships with yourself and others.

  • We want to help you with as many concerns as you want help with. Our caring team of therapists and professional mental health staff are here for you and your loved ones. Visit us for addiction treatment, EMDR for trauma therapy, opportunities to explore coping patterns, marriage counseling and couples therapy, postpartum depression and anxiety counseling, depression therapy, mindfulness training, and more tools for client education. We also have a psychiatric nurse practitioner who can provide psychiatric care and medication. We look forward to talking with you soon!
